Cajun Seasoned Fries (and everything else you could dream of)

For some reason, I always crave fried foods. I am not sure if this is a more recent habit or if I was always like this (and only recently started to notice), but the point is that whenever we go out to eat, I always scarf down onion rings, cheese curds, fries, etc.

To save money while satisfying my fried food addiction, we recently bought a small bag of Ore-Ida waffle fries.  What could be better than fries? Cajun seasoned fries!

In an empty spice container, we mixed together about 1.5 teaspoons of paprika, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne, 1/2 teaspoon of thyme, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.  We closed the spice container and shook it up to combine the different seasonings.

After cooking the fries to a delightful crisp, we threw them in a large metal bowl. Steve shook the bowl around while I sprinkled on the cajun seasoning.  After about 15 seconds, the fries were pretty evenly covered and absolutely delicious.  You could also throw the fries in a small paper bag, add the seasoning, fold the top over, and shake them up.

We haven't tried, but I don't see a reason you couldn't throw this seasoning on just about anything that seems appropriate!
