Leak-free, Glass Food Containers

My friend told me about this show where young bridezillas try on wedding dresses. When they find the perfect one, they start crying and blubbering, "Daddy, this is the one." Nope, I have never done that because I am not married. And not crazy. But there are some things that I am enthusiastic about. One is food containers. They can really make or break my day.

I HATE it when I get to school, settle into my desk, open up my backpack, and find that my lunch has leaked. Usually, I wrap my food container in a plastic bag, but sometimes even that can end up gross if I pack something with a decent amount of liquid.

Another difficult thing is that glass containers can be so heavy that I feel like I'm going on a week-long hiking trip. An alternative is plastic containers, but those get all weird/scary/chemically when put in the microwave.

One last annoying thing: storage. I hate it when we have a hodgepodge of containers and they don't stack neatly in the drawer. Then we have lids going all over the place and it's just too stressful.

BUT!! Steve and I just bought the most exciting food containers! They are glass, but not super-duper heavy.  Also, unlike the stupid Pyrex containers, these lids seal! Stupid Pyrex doesn't even try. It doesn't even care if it gets foodstuffs all over my notebooks.  Then, I can get to school with a nice dry backpack, snap off the sealed lid, and put my food in the microwave. Heck, I could even put it in the oven...but actually...not, since we don't have one at school.  Then I can bring the containers back home, wash them in the dishwasher (even the lid is top-rack safe), and store them. The beautiful part is the storage. They're like Matryoshka dolls. Put the lid on the little one, stick it in a bigger one, put the lid on that, and just keep on going. So many containers in so little space! And there are all these different shapes to suit your mood: square, circle, rectangle, awesome.

there are three containers in there! can you see the edges?

three circles, two squares, two rectangles (more not pictured)
